Spring! Spring! Spring!

Kingston was good - lots of fun and it was excellent to see "the bride and the banker". They are so happy and it seems like everything is coming together for them - I am so glad to be a part of what's to come!
Dinner was excellent (and appreciated) - TG and I now crave the duck and the tenderloin we had and look forward to treating you guys the next time we are able to get together for a bite. Looking back on the evening I drank a lot - does Kingston water down the drinks?! Pomosa I miss you...

Buckle down this week! I am on the home stretch for school and have to finish a paper for Monday (start and finish a paper...) on barriers to employment for women in information technology - fascinating!

This weekend Apes is celebrating another birthday country style - yee haw! I am SO there...

Loving the weather! TG and I went for a walk and I wore shorts (and a hoodie) and it was wonderful - I look forward to more walks as the warmer weather progresses. You know that spring is here when the fry truck opens for the first time!

I have decided that I am going to attempt to grow cherry tomatoes and some herbs on our balcony this summer - is you have any tips feel free to pass along, my thumbs are not green!

TG and I have been (re-) together for two years - like I said, I look forward to everything! xo

Have a great day, enjoy the weather and the people you love!

PS: TG - It's about time you updated your blog! I am not going to add a link from my awesomeness of a blog to your neglected one!

Forgot To Mention...

TG has a new habit of groping me/humping me from behind and shouting "Spring Break - Whooo! Yeah Baby!" Thanks MTV/Much Music.

(Note: the new part is that TG says "Spring Break - Whooo!...", not that he gropes/humps me from behind - classic TG move!)
xo

The Other K-Town

TG and I are going on a mini road trip this weekend to visit my bride-to-be friend in Kingston. We are really looking forward to the weekend - good times are guaranteed! I miss having her close and look forward to laughing together - alcohol induced or otherwise!

TG has taken on the meal planning and preparation on Thursdays and after a rough starts (sandwiches, spicy fries, pizza) he has redeemed himself with two EXCELLENT weeks of chicken, shrimp, pasta, steak - very de-lish and appreciated.

My mood has improved so much over the course of the week. Maybe Mondays just suck and we had some stress this particular week but come Thursday I feel like a different person. I am not bi-polar just a product of my environment and it seems like my environment improves as the week progresses despite the anticipation I have for Kingston!
I also find that music can change my mood -on the way home I learned that the Daddy Mack will always make me Jump - Holla!

I am in spring cleaning mode - that means getting rid of crap and organizing, in addition to disinfecting and vacuuming. I am eager to do little projects as spring progresses - last night was the shower - an overall improvement thanks to Mr. Clean. Seriously, if you have not experienced the Magic Eraser get on it - it'll change your life!

I consider myself to be a morning person. Generally speaking, I can be delightful in the morning and usually arrive at the office in a pleasant mood. My mood however drastically changes when a co-worker asks me to smell the carton of cream he is holding to "tell if it's bad" because apparently he needs a second opinion? WTF - smell your own cream, I brought my coffee (I know better) and if I do find that it's sour I will puke. He insisted that I smell the cream until I told him to piss off because "Mommy hasn't had HER coffee yet". He used the cream so I suppose he was not all that concerned but rather wanted to agitate me before I even had the chance to take my coat off - tool. Luckily, shortly after I got to my desk I heard "Sweet Child O" Mine" and the Daughtry song "It's Not Over" on the radio and am back to my pleasant self thanks to the tunes.

A travel agent via email called me "Sweetie" - I will not be booking a trip with him.

Finally - An early Happy Birthday to my most "in tune" pal! I look forward to drinking and chatting with you tonight - MSN just does not cut in sometimes! Cheers!

BTW - As I am wrapping up this email "Sexual Healing" is playing - now, not only am I convinced it is going to be a good day but a great weekend - "it's something that's good for me..."

No Briefcase...

My Tuesday routine usually involves going to Blockbuster to pick up a couple of movies. The last couple weeks I have rented (I don't remember), Shut Up & Sing, Catch a Fire and The Holiday. I usually use a coupon I got over the holidays from my uncle to pay for half the rental and cash for the rest under TG's account. After a tremendously successful (and un-impressive new releases) track record I have been told that my DVD selection must now be pre-approved!

I will admit that I am glad that I did not see either in the theatre and The Holiday was one of the worst movies EVER - but if it is a toss up between 90210, Friends, or TBS would you not pick the potentially crappy movie? I would....despite me not liking the movies either, I still feel bad for TG - like it was my fault Hollywood invested in such a shit production.

Apparently TG would rather watch ANYTHING other then the Dixie Chicks ridicule Bush or Jack Black whoo Kate Winslet and I can't say that I blame him.

TG used this analogy to explain "in your last two turns, you've opened the $500,000 and the $750,000 cases..."!

On another note today is "steak and bj day"! An email circulated around our (male) office that reminded men to tell their wives and girlfriends of this spectacular day and to pass it on to every male you know that that no one will be left out of this joyous occasion...
My boss took the liberty and passed it on to TG so that he too would not be left out and while I appreciate the many connotations that accompany TG's reply (to my boss), it went like this...

"Meh... I guess I'd be more excited if I wasn't already celebrating that once a week already. "

(...or more!)

Hmmmm...

Thanks TG - you are the best'est boyfriends in the whole wide world - xo!

Things I Learned This Weekend...

  • That it would not be Tennessee's wedding if it did not include the "Log Diver's Waltz" and three streakers!
  • As much as you say you are un-traditional and "anti-wedding", some tradition will sneak its way into the ceremony and reception.
  • TG and I can take advantage of an open bar and only have mild headaches in the morning.
  • What is said in the bedroom should stay in the bedroom.
  • TG is an excellent liar and some kids are cute.
  • When doing you laundry be sure to put your unmentionables in the bottom of the basket when carrying it back to the condo and look down the hallway to see that you did not drop anything on the way back from the dryer.
  • If you go to leave for work in the morning and you notice a thong on your front mat - hope that they are clean (and yours) and know that people have been walking past them all night laughing at you!

Cheers to better weather and booking a trip in March (for September)! Whoo Hoo!

People are amazingly resilient. Recently TG and I attended a visitation for one of his friends who's father died this weekend. Despite the tremendous sadness and tears, I am always surprised that they ask how I am, that they laugh when you tell them they smell good and that the people there to support them are happy to see you - so happy that you get the double-cheek kiss. It reminds me of how lucky I am that I have not had to experience such sadness and that I have not had to find out how resilient I am.

Tomorrow is Tennesse's wedding! I am excited to attend because it is going to be relaxed and a true celebration of the couple - Cheers! It'll be such a celebration that I am told that the newleyweds will be providing shuttle home via taxi - we'll see if we need it or not! (Who am I kidding?!)

My (our) spring/summer weekends are filling up fast! Whether it is a game night with friends. a wedding, a trip to Kingston or an Irish holiday - we are nearly booked! Speaking of booking TG and I and 99.5% sure we will be on vacation the second week in September! I think we've narrowed down the location/resort, worked it into our budgets and will book sooner then later! The waiting for September will be grueling but the summer always goes by fast and I doubt this one will be an exception!

My sister is happy - happier then she's ever been I think. She is single, sexy and has Kong. What more a girl want?! She knows as much as I do that this is what she needs - xo.

Your way or mine?
