Happy Halloween - Ahhh The Memories!

I remember when I was a kid I loved Halloween! It was not only for the candy (which me and my sister shared), it was for the dressing up part too!

I had a couple of memorable costumes. Shortly after the video release of Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure (I was probably in grade 3 or 5) I went as the Grim Reaper (sp?). Looking back on that choice now, I realize that for a female of that age it was a little demented and my Mum was rightfully concerned at the time. One year when I was much younger, I went as the 80's toddler toy fad the "Hug-A-Bunch". I was the one with the purple hair and wore my snowsuit under the plastic smock sold as the costume. Everything about the costume was plastic except for the purple curls and by the end of the night the costume was ripped.

Despite those clever ideas, other years were pretty lame - cats, clowns, and cowgirls. The one year that I was a clown was because in school I got to go to "enrichment". The whole week was on clowning and I thought I was pretty kick-ass at putting on my own clown make up. I had reason to believe this because the "enrichment" was an entire week of face-painting, honking horns, and smashing a pies into the faces of my peers - good times. By the end of the week I did not feel "enriched" and considered riding a unicycle as a hobby and possible profession!

If only MY mom made me cool Halloween costumes - that would have been jazzy eh TG?!

Nowadays, I have mixed feelings about Halloween. I still like the dressing up but as a potential/future homeowner and potential/future parent (yikes!) I somewhat dislike the trick-or-treating part. Wouldn't it be healthier (for kids) and less expensive (for adults) if there was something else to do? What happened to the tradition of bobbing for apples? Or a community fall fair on Halloween? I don't know, I just think that there has got to be something better for kids to do Halloween night - while they are young anyways. What 6 year old needs all that chocolate and candy?

Tonight TG and I are planning a nice autumn evening walk - for once there will be no snow, sleet, or frigid temperatures to prevent one from enjoying a stroll this time of year. Follow the walk with a nice late dinner and that sounds like a perfect tradition to start - while we are young anyways...!

No, This Is YOUR Warning - 1 of....7!

The Chicks were awesome! A really great concert that I got to go to with really great company! They played all the favs and lots of new stuff that I was impressed with! Despite the lady "not paying $100 to see our asses" we stood and sang with 85% that were having a good time! She was a tattle-tale tool that should have "loosened up those chains" and danced! We paid $100 to have a good time!

Subways are interesting - especially on October 28th this year when the majority of 19+ celebrate Halloween. I did not see Jim Bob comin' on down - I wish I had of! Instead I saw a bride and groom lesbian couple. The one "dressed up" as the man had real facial hair - I swear.

Happy Halloween!

Same Ol'...

WW weigh-in today was alright. I did not gain, I did not lose so I am satisfied given that I was on holidays last week. I am going to make a big batch of vegetable soup tonight for lunches next week so hopefully I will see a drop on the scale sooner then later.

My exam went fine - on to the discussion paper due in the next couple of weeks.

I am very excited for the concert this weekend! The Chicks have SO many songs I am looking forward to hearing, I am beyond pumped!

True Story:
When I was in my last year of highschool I wanted to be in our musical production/concert pretty bad. In order to be cast, you HAD to tryout with a solo song (all I really wanted to do was hum in the background of someone that was actually talented and maybe play a tambourine or a bongo). Anywho, I was willing to put myself through the solo humiliation and sang "Wide Open Spaces" to my peer judges and explained that all I wanted was to be a back up singer. The reply I got was - "who sings THAT song?" I told them the "Dixie Chicks" they giggled and cut me - end of story. Seriously, would it have been all that bad if the they let me "ooooh" and "ahhhhh" off to the side of one of the acts?! I think not...

D and Aim - be ready because if they play that song on Saturday I will be living the dream that was snatched away from me in highschool! "Who doesn't know what I talkin' about?!"

Peace.

Back to Work...

Holidays came and went pretty quick. Got a few things done that I planned and for the most part was not as "on plan" as I had hoped...I blame le biftheque and the mandarin! This is a new week - here's to it.
I realize that I laughed a lot last week. I thought I would get tired of the one on one, not really having any agenda but it was very nice, I thoroughly enjoyed my "vacation". I came away with a few more inside jokes then before and too many funny instances to blog (way too many!)
Highlights of the holiday included Second City (ssuuuucccckkk mmyyyy...don't mind if I do) , the Sheraton after dark, and FearFest (holy shit!). I was depressed to go back to work last night but happy to be here this morning and get back into a routine.

Midterm this week - business law and politics crap, all multiple choice, I will be ready come Wednesday and eager to get it out of the way so that I can start the discussion paper that's due sooner then later - uurugh...

After the holidays TG and I promised to penny pinch/save where we can. Looking at the situation(s) I can't think of a better time to start - yikes!

This weekend is the Chicks at the ACC - SO excited!

Lost of happening with me and my ladies lately. If they are not buying a house, they are buying a wedding dress (yea!), or they are dating and relating based on the fact that the two of them like OJ with pulp! Just kidding babe - you know I love you "mate"!

Cheers!

Vacation Is Just Around the Corner!

I am on holidays next week - YEA! I am looking forward to the time off and can only hope for some nice weather to accompany me on my "vacation". Although I have no official plans, there are some goals I hope to accomplish over the course of the week - some out of necessity and some just for fun. My main goal is to stay on track with WW for the week - wish me luck! I think I will be ok and I have motivation to do so...

For the first time today I tried the "honeycrisp" variety of apple - SO delicious! I have heard people talking about them for a little while and I finally saw them (for a reasonable price) at the store and decided to pick them up - well worth it! As I told TG, it was the most tasty and juicy thing I have put in my mouth in a long time...

Ciao!

Where Do I Start?

I was thinking about what my entry should be after a weekend like I had, and honestly I don't know where to start!
Friday was a gong show that began with me and a few friends eating sausage and kraut and ended with me (alone) riding a mechanical one at the Aud (minus the kraut) - not the proudest moment of my life. I lasted a pathetic 11 seconds. I blame the grape coolers that were 50 cents less then beer - WTF?! (Reasoning told me at the time that it was a good idea to switch from beer to coolers because for 50 cents less you can get like 3% more booze - I am so smart)

Good times with the team and friends THAT night....not so much the next day.

It would have been nice to pull out a win in the tournament (without any help from me and TG for the morning game) but we were unable to do so. I was not right until 5pm but at least I asked TG to pull over and did not get any in the car on the way to the second game - not fun.

Moving on, turkey was great both Sunday and Monday. I love turkey and great company and despite a little family drama, the holiday was very enjoyable. I got a nice haul from Scotland and made viewing the 400 pictures worth while. You have no idea...
Question(s) - is it weird that TG's mother brought me back white lacy underwear?! Is is weird that I got them in front of TG's Dad? Is it weird that they were white? HAHA - the jig is up... I was embarrassed but I figure I'd better get used to it - long story.

Cheers to lots of water this week!

TG Is A Lemming - His Words, Not Mine...

http://www.cyberstorm.ca/blog/

I am only posting this because of the very nice compliment and shout out TG gives me and I figured I should do the same.

PS - he really is cooler then me! If you don't believe me just look at his profile...(xo!)

Shopping with TG Part 2

So last night we went to get supplies (read : sausage, kraut, chips and beer) for Oktoberfest. We are have just a couple of people over prior to festivities tonight!

So TG and I are in the store rushing to get things done and be home in time for Survivor and we come upon the aisle that sells detergent and cleaning supplies. TG reminds me that we need dryer sheets - good call, I would have forgot. I go into the aisle and select the PC dryer sheets. They are less expensive and you get 200 for the price you'd pay for 80 of the leading national brand - good deal.
No sooner did I attempt to put them in the cart did TG say:

"Noooooope, Snuggle." (No joke, no plead, not "how about Snuggle..." - there was no negotiating)

I replied that they are like $10 for 200 - that's a lot...

"Snuggle." TG restated. ( I guess that is what his mommie used to use?)

Needless to say, Snuggle dryer sheets went in to the cart and yet another reason I do not go to the grocery store with TG. To make up for the price difference I now purchase our detergent at dollarama.

Happy Thanksgiving and Oktoberfest to those celebrating!

WW Confession

Ok, so I went to my WW weigh in today and my weight has increased - by 0.3 lbs. WTF? It does not seem like a lot but what a disappointment. I thought about taking off my ring, earrings, and watch just to get the number to drop but I decided that would be too petty given that I was already standing there barefoot.
I am glad that I got it out of the way since this weekend is going to be a turkey and beer-fest! I will then have some time to get back on track before the next weigh in.
This weekend is one of my yearly favorites, there is so much going on and the weather is supposed to be beautiful!

Wish team "hangover" good luck - we are gonna need it!

Dear Semi-Public Laundry Facility Users...Listen Up 411

I would like to remind you to ensure that the double check the washer after removing clothes for drying. It makes it a pain for the next person to remove the clothes on you behalf even if it is only 1 pair of not so white victoria secret granny panties (seriously, they went through the wash cycle and were still that color....gross) Should I come across this again, I will do the same thing and throw the underwear in the garbage and proceed to load my clothes into the washer. If you would prefer for me to leave your not so tighty whities on top of the dryer with your bras (again why?) please leave a pair of latex gloves in the laundry room for such an occurrence.

On another note, it was nice to meet you, awkward, but nice to meet you. I know that when you took the lint out of the trap (for me to then put ALL my clothes in he dryer) and put the lint in the garbage you did see you underwear in with the rest of the trash. I am the only one that could have been responsible for that, since my clothes were now in the washer, but really it was your own fault. TG was there and could have been the one who threw them out but he was too busy gagging and then making faces behind you back while I was shaking you hand.

Sincerely,
Mano, 314

La Senza Snob

So I went to get a new bra last night after a failed attempt on the weekend. and usually there are average, nice looking girls working, who are generally pleasant and helpful.

I asked about a new style that they were supposed to have and the not so average yet polite girl (little girl, 16'ish) says to me that they expect them in a week and to try this other bra because they are similar to each other. I take her advice and try on the "laser technology cut seam-free wonder" and I am not really pleased with the bra and decide not to purchase. I decide to instead stick with the tried and true "so-free seamless" collection that I admire.

At the check out the girl asks me how I liked the "laser technology cut seam free wonder" and I politely reply that I really didn't like the padding and the light push up feature and that I will wait for La Senza to get the one I originally asked for in the store.

The little snob (whom I think would be a 32 or 34 A cup or a small B at best) replies that not everyone is used to having their bust lifted - WTF?! She then goes on the say that she is used that having her bosom sit up here (points to her chest/throat) and some people find that uncomfortable as prefer it to sit lower (points below her chest) - again, WTF?! I felt as though she was implying that mine were not as perky as hers, which, although may be true, she should have just shut up and packaged my bra.

Yesterday was not a good day for her to make me feel anything other then happy about my purchase and she is quite lucky she did not point to my chest when describing the latter.

All The Sexy Mamas

I notice that recently a few of my friends have taken the opportunity to incorporate a healthy lifestyle into their everyday routines. They may be well on their way to better health or just starting the journey - my point is BRAVO! Whatever stage you are at and for whatever reason you are doing it, keep going because it will pay off!
I was browsing at pictures this past week and re-realized what a good looking group of people I have surrounding me - thanks ladies and gents because you only make me look better!
I am always in awe of the sexy and smart women that I call my friends.

I will miss my friend venturing to the pubs and castles far far away! Good luck to this brave gal - not that she is doing the trip solo but the she intends on renting a car! Bring me back a love spoon - oops, wrong country and really not my joke to tell - funny none the less.
